Ben Kadle Memorial Scholarship
Ben Kadle (Feb 2, 1977 - Apr 29, 1999) made a huge impact on so many lives while he was with us. For those that didn’t know Ben, he was a larger-than-life guy with a big heart. Ben was as loyal as they come, would tell you how it is, and cared for people genuinely. Ben passed away much too young, so we will take the reins from here and hope to do some good in his name! We have established a scholarship fund in Ben’s honor.
Ben, his wife Keri, and their daughter Mikaela, have all been very involved in choir throughout their lives. The Bloomington Kennedy Show Choir (JB Singers) is where Ben and Keri met. Music was always a huge part of Ben's life, and he passed along that passion with anyone around him. We figured what better way to honor Ben than establishing a scholarship for choir students at Bloomington Kennedy High School.
Students interested in receiving a scholarship must be in Bloomington Kennedy choir, be in good standing at school, and write an essay stating their intentions post high school, including how their choir experience has helped impact who they are today. Awarded students are chosen by faculty and staff.
2023 was our inaugural year. Here are the 5 students who received $1,000 scholarships. Congratulations to all of them. They are all very worthy recipients and we know they will make Ben proud.
